In recent times, many travellers are considering other modes of transportation. Travelling by air has its challenges, and these individuals seek alternative ways to move from one location to another without flying.

Some major reasons people prefer to travel without flying include the increasing cost of plane tickets, occasional delays, fully booked plane tickets, jet lag syndromes and unplanned trips.

The cost of plane tickets has continued to increase. Some families that could afford plane tickets for the husband and wife now have 2 to 3 kids. Adding their plane tickets to the cost of family trips is not cost-effective.

Similarly, travelling by air is characterised by occasional delays. Airlines around the world occasionally delay or reschedule flights, all in the name of technicalities. Sometimes, you have an urgent trip to make with no available seat on the airplane.

With all these challenges and a couple of others (that were not mentioned), people are now finding alternative ways to travel without flying.

Nowadays, some trains are very fast and go long distances. International trains can transcend borders and move across several states and regions.

Irrespective of the weather condition, trains are built to move and arrive at their destinations safely (without turbulence). More so, trains emit less carbon and are environmentally friendly to air travel.
